The EyeKnow™ Game is based on real-world cases that walk into the clinic and will consist of a review of several ophthalmology cases involving the retina, oculoplastic surgery, uveitis, pediatric ophthalmology,  cornea, and glaucoma.

The session will be hosted on Zoom with interactive quiz game elements occurring via the Kahoot platform.

Taking place on Wednesday, March 4th, starting at 8:00pm ET.

Dr. Sanjay Sharma

Dr. Sanjay Sharma, a professor of ophthalmology at Queen's University, is the founder of a series of educational initiatives that reach over 22,000 Eye Doctors. Dr. Sharma has written over 300 scientific articles and the textbook, The Quick Guide to OCT Mastery. The recipient of prestigious awards in innovation, technology and education, from the CIHR, the AFMC and the AAO, Dr. Sharma completed fellowships in retina at Queen's University, Wills Eye Hospital and Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary.

 Vladimir Kratky

Dr. Vladimir Kratky is the Director of the Oculoplastics service at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston, and a Professor of Ophthalmology at Queen's University. The author of numerous publications that have appeared in the peer-reviewed literature, Dr. Kratky holds a patent for an adaptation of the exophthalmometer. Dr. Kratky completed his residency and his fellowship in Oculoplastics Surgery at the University of Toronto.

Chloe Gottlieb

Dr. Chloe Gottlieb is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Residency Program Director at the University of Ottawa. Her current research interests include the treatment of posterior uveitis and uveitic CME, and the mfERG in Plaquenil retinopathy. Working with a national group of uveitis specialists and the Canadian Rheumatology Association, she participated in forming the first set of Canadian guidelines on the management of JIA-associated uveitis.

Irfan Kherani

Dr. Irfan Kherani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto. He has completed two clinical fellowships, first in Glaucoma & Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at the University of Toronto, and in Vision Rehabilitation at the University of British Columbia. He most recently completed the one-year Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program at Harvard University.

Claire Sheldon

Dr. Sheldon completed a combined MD/PhD degree (Physiology), followed by ophthalmology residency training, at the University of British Columbia. She then went on to complete neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently Clinical Associate Professor, at the University of British Columbia, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. She recently completed a 5-yr tenure as Ophthalmology Residency Program Director at UBC, at the completion of which she was awarded the PGME’s Outstanding Contribution Award.

Mark Bona

Dr. Mark Bona is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Queen's University and the Program Director of its Residency Program. The author of numerous publications that appear in the peer-reviewed literature, Dr. Bona completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Queen's University and training in Low Vision at the Low Vision Rehabilitation California Pacific Medical Center.

Ahsen Hussain

Dr. Ahsen Hussain is an Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Dalhousie University. The recipient of numerous prestigious awards, he completed fellowships in Oculoplastics Surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital in the UK and University of Toronto. Dr. Hussain, who has published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature, is one of only a few Canadian members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

About the CCOR

The Council of Canadian Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR) is a committee of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS). The group is run by volunteer ophthalmology residents from across Canada. They provide a platform for resident collaboration, advocacy, and dissemination of educational and career-planning resources. The CCOR hosts both medical student and resident-targeted symposia at the COS Annual Meeting, as well as other social events throughout the year.

How do I register?
Fill in the registration form above. After registration you will receive an confirmation email from the Zoom platform with your unique join link. You'll also receive reminder emails as the event approaches including one week, one day, and one hour before the session.
How do I join the session?
On the day of the session use the join link you received from Zoom to join from your device. If you do not have the Zoom application installed, you will be prompted to do so.

Zoom has clients for all operating systems and mobile devices.
Quiz Game 
The session will have an (optional) quiz game format. This portion of the event will be making use of the Kahoot platform. Participants will enter their quiz answers using a web browser on the mobile device, tablet, laptop, etc.

To participate in the game please use your your web browser on your computer or mobile device to navigate to the URL https://kahoot.it/ - and enter the PIN for this session. The PIN will be made available at the start of the Zoom session.

This will be explained at the beginning of the event.
